The Middle School Girls’ soccer team's success at East Wake Academy reflects both individual growth and team growth, team members believe. “When Hadley, Bella, and Amalia scored, the whole team was so happy that we had won our first match,” recalls 8th grader Sephora, referencing a game early in the season.

This highlights “the shared excitement and unity among players,” said 6th-grade Sarah Johnson, who just started playing for East Wake Academy. “It's been amazing that all my friends made the team and we all worked so hard together,” she adds.
This proves that the team has an excellent "supportive emotional environment,” believes 8th grader Emily Homlotis.
“Over the years, I've seen the team move with better touches on the ball and having better spatial awareness,” added Coach Justin Jason. “The team is one of the best teams I have coached. They have improved in touches and passes,” He attributes improvement to training and emphasis on constant movement during play.
